Jason Aldean Apologizes for Mistake

Here's the scoop:
Jason Aldean is owning up to the photographs that have surfaced of him getting rather friendly with a former "American Idol" hopeful.  In a WhoSay.com post, the country star admits that he "screwed up."  He explains that he "had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar."  He adds that he "left alone" and "caught the bus" to his next show, and "that's the end of the story."  Aldean says he "ultimately ended up embarrassing" himself and that he's "sorry for disappointing" his fans, but admits he's "not perfect."  Jason also says he appreciates "being able to work through this privately" with his family, as well as his fans' "continued support."

The flirtatious photos are posted at TMZ.com.  They show the married country star hugging and touching Brittany Kerr at a crowded Los Angeles bar, and in some shots the two appear to be sharing even more intimate contact.  The pictures were reportedly taken last Wednesday, two days after Aldean's concert in Hollywood.  Jason has been married to his wife Jessica for more than a decade.  They just celebrated their eleventh wedding anniversary in August.  The couple also has two daughters together.  Kerr was featured on "American Idol" earlier this year.

Breaking News

0930_jason_aldean_npg_articleCountry music superstar Jason Aldean says his very open public display of affection with a former "American Idol" contestant -- who is NOT his wife -- was a huge, drunken mistake.

Jason released a statement today, apologizing for his indiscretion, after TMZ posted pictures early this morning of the country singer and "A.I." castoff Brittany Kerr getting up close and personal -- hugging, touching, and flirting at a very popular, crowded bar on the Sunset Strip (above).

Jason -- who has been married since 2001 -- says, "The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar."

He says, "I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself." And then adds, "I left alone and that's the end of the story."
