If you always end up short at Christmastime... or overspending... or racking up credit card debt, here's an idea. Try buying small presents for your kids over the course of the year. Depending on how many children you have, you could buy one gift or gift card every month to tuck away to create a "box of fun" that could be used throughout the year.
It's a lot easier to spend $10, $20 or $30 a month on smaller gifts than to try to get all the shopping done between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
