Prices for first class and Priority Mail at the Post Office are going up, effective Sunday January 26. According to usps.com, the rate increase will generate about $2 billion in annual revenue for the United States Postal Service.
Here are some of the basic first class mail price increases:
Letters (1 oz.) — 3-cent increase to 49 cents
Letters additional ounces — 1-cent increase to 21 cents
Letters to all international destinations (1 oz.) — $1.15
Postcards — 1-cent increase to 34 cents
