AN INVESTIGATION INTO A RASH OF FAKE PRESCRIPTIONS IN THE AREA HAS LEAD TO THE ARREST OF A MARYLAND WOMAN.    TWENTY YEAR OLD MELANIE PERKINS USED A FAKE NAME AND A PRESCRIPTION FROM AN AREA DOCTOR LAST NIGHT AT A PHARMACY IN RICHLAND TOWNSHIP.  THE SAME PRESCRIPTION WAS TAKEN TO A TOTAL OF THREE PHARMACIES.  THE SUSPECT IS IN JAIL ON A 150-THOUSAND DOLLARS BALE.

THE PRINCIPAL OF BISHOP MCCORT HIGH SCHOOL, WHO HAD BEEN ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE SINCE MARCH … HAS DECIDED TO STEP DOWN.  KEN SALEM SAID YESTERDAY THAT, AFTER MONTHS OF CONSIDERATION, HE DECIDED TO VOLUNTARILY SEPARATE FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.  HE SAYS HE WILL PURSUE OTHER OPPORTUNITIES.  SALEM WAS PUT ON LEAVE AFTER ALLEGATIONS OF ABUSE SURFACED INVOLVING BROTHER STEPHEN BAKER.  BAKER COMMITTED SUICIDE IN BLAIR COUNTY IN JANUARY.

A SOMERSET COUNTY JAIL GUARD IS ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE PENDING CHARGES HE SEXUALLY HARASSED TWO FEMALE OFFICERS.  RONALD LENSBOUER ALLEGEDLY HAD A HABIT OF MAKING LEWD REMARKS TO THE WOMEN.  THE 44-YEAR-OLD WAS REPORTED, HOWEVER, AFTER HE ALLEGEDLY INAPPROPRIATELY TOUCHED THE WOMEN.  LENSBOUER'S SALARY ALSO HAS BEEN SUSPENDED PENDING THE OUTCOME OF THE INVESTIGATION AND CHARGES.

SUSPENDED ROCKVIEW STATE PRISON GUARD MARLIN FREEMAN OF CLEARFIELD COUNTY IS DUE FOR SENTENCING TODAY.  HE PLEADED NO CONTEST TO INSTITUTIONAL ASSAULT FOR FORCING AN INMATE TO PERFORM SEX ACTS ON HIM OVER SEVERAL YEARS.  FREEMAN REPORTEDLY THREATENED THE PRISONER AND TOLD HIM TO KEEP QUIET, BUT THE INMATE SENT D-N-A EVIDENCE TO AUTHORITIES.  THE INMATE IS ALSO SUING FREEMAN AND SEVERAL OTHER STATE EMPLOYEES FOR NOT STOPPING THE ABUSE.

CLEARFIELD COUNTY CORONER MIKE MORRIS CONFIRMS TO THE CLEARFIELD PROGRESS NEWSPAPER THAT THE DECAYING BODY OF A MALE WAS FOUND TUESDAY IN A FIELD NEAR ROLLING STONE ROAD NEAR KARTHAUS.  THE REMAINS WERE SENT AWAY FOR FORENSIC TESTING.  AUTHORITIES PLAN TO RELEASE MORE INFORMATION SOON.  AT THIS POINT, FOUL PLAY IS NOT SUSPECTED.

39 YEAR OLD BRIAN BUYBACK OF JACKSON TOWNSHIP, CAMBRIA COUNTY, DIED YESTERDAY FROM INJURIES HE SUSTAINED IN AN A-T-V CRASH IN NANTY GLO ON MAY 5.  AUTHORITIES SAY BUYNACK LOST CONTROL ON A STEEP EMBANKMENT AND FELL ABOUT 15 FEET INTO BLACKLICK CREEK.  BUYNACK WAS NOT WEARING A HELMET AND HIS BLOOD-ALCOHOL LEVEL WAS POINT-21 PERCENT.
