A WINTER STORM WARNING CONTINUES FOR NEARLY ALL OF WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA.  SOME AREAS COULD GET AS MUCH AS EIGHT INCHES OF SNOW ACCUMULATION TODAY.

A TWO YEAR OLD BOY WAS KILLED OVER THE WEEKEND BY HIS OWN FATHER IN HUNTINGDON COUNTY.  THE SHOOTER WAS IDENTIFIED AS KENNETH AYERS. IT HAPPENED IN DERRY TOWNSHIP ON SATURDAY MORNING. THE LITTLE’S BOY’S MOTHER – AYERS’ ESTRANGED WIFE – WAS ALSO SHOT IN THE ARM, LEG AND FACE.  SHE’S HOSPITALIZED TODAY.  AYERS FLED THE SCENE AND THEN TOOK HIS OWN LIFE.

JOHNSTOWN POLICE MADE A DRUG ARREST SATURDAY NIGHT IN THE HORNERSTOWN SECTION OF JOHNSTOWN.  DAVID CARR WAS ARRESTED 4 TIMES PREVIOUSLY. POLICE SAY HE HAD CRACK COCAINE WORTH ABOUT 18-HUNDRED DOLLARS.  HE’S IN JAIL TODAY ON 75-THOUSAND DOLLARS BAIL.

TAPED EXCERPTS OF TELEPHONE CONVERSATIONS WITH DISGRACED FORMER FOOTBALL COACH JERRY SANDUSKY HIT THE NATIONAL AIRWAVES TODAY.  THE TAPED CONVERSATIONS WERE HEARD ON NBC-TV'S "TODAY SHOW" THIS MORNING.  INDEPENDENT FILMMAKER JOHN ZIEGLER - WHO IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT SANDUSKY'S CONVICTION ON CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE CHARGES - SAYS THE INTERVIEWS WERE RECORDED THROUGH A VARIETY OF MEANS INCLUDING MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS AND AN IN-PERSON VISIT.

52-YEAR-OLD KENNETH PINER IS SCHEDULED TO GO ON TRIAL TODAY IN BLAIR COUNTY COURT ON VARIOUS DRUG CHARGES. HE IS ALLEGED TO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN COCAINE RING THAT FUNNELED DRUGS FROM BALTIMORE TO ALTOONA. PINER HAS NOT DENIED SELLING SMALL AMOUNTS OF DRUGS IN THE PAST, BUT SAYS HE WASN’T PART OF THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE LARGE AMOUNTS.
