A CAR HIT A HOUSE IN SOMERSET BOROUGH YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AND AT LEAST 2 PEOPLE WERE HURT.  ONE PERSON … WHO WAS FIGHTING WITH THE EMERGENCY RESPONDERS … WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL.  IT HAPPENED ON WEST MAIN STREET AND HARRISON AVENUE WHEN TWO CARS COLLIDED AND ONE CAR STRUCK THE HOUSE.

AN ALLEGED DRUG SUSPECT STOLE A POLICE CRUISER SATURDAY NIGHT AND LET POLICE ON A HIGH SPEECH CHASE THROUGH CAMBRIA COUNTY.  IT HAPPENED SATURDAY NIGHT NEAR NANTY GLO WHEN POLICE SAY 26 YEAR OLD ANTHONY FOX WAS ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES.  HE WAS HANDCUFFED BEHIND HIS BACK BUT GOT HIS ARMS IN FRONT OF HIM AND STOLE AN EBENSBURG POLICE CRUISER. HE TOOK OFF, BUT CRASHED IN FRONT OF AN APARTMENT COMPLEX.  HE TRIED TO GET INTO AN APARTMENT TO HIDE, BUT WAS ARRESTED SHORTLY AFTERWARDS BY POLICE.

STATE POLICE THROUGHOUT WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA ARE WARNING RESIDENTS ABOUT A NEW PHONE SCAM THAT INVOLVES THE COMPANY “RITE AID.”   THE SCAMMER TELLS UNSUSPECTING RESIDENTS THAT THEY'VE WON A RITE AID PHARMACY SWEEPSTAKES, AND THEN INSTRUCTS THEM TO GO PURCHASE A FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR PRE-PAID GREEN DOT CARD TO PAY TAXES.  THERE IS NO SUCH SWEEPSTAKES, OF COURSE.   ONCE THE SERIAL NUMBER ON THE BACK OF THE CARD IS GIVEN TO THE SCAMMER, HE OR SHE CAN USE THE MONEY.  THE SCAM IS TARGETING RESIDENTS IN WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA.

FIRE DESTROYED A BEDFORD COUNTY BARN SHORTLY BEFORE 5 SUNDAY MORNING.  SOUTHERN COVE VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY CHIEF BRIAN WALTER SAYS WAYNE GRAHAM OF WOODBURY HAD PUT SOME HAY IN THE BARN AND IT SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUSTED,   THE CATTLE ESCAPED WITHOUT INJURY.

STATE POLICE IN CLEARFIELD COUNTY ARE LOOKING FOR THE PERSON WHO STOLE A WALLET SUNDAY MORNING ALONG ROUTE 322 WESTBOUND NEAR THE MOUNT ZION ROAD EXIT.   29 YEAR OLD MARK HARTSFELD OF LUTHERSBURG WAS WORKING ON HIS DISABLED VEHICLE WHEN A 17 OR 18 YEAR OLD BOY TOOK THE WALLET AND FLED ON A BABY BLUE B-M-X STYLE BICYCLE.  ANYONE WHO HAS ANY INFORMATION IS URGED TO CALL POLICE.
