Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's tepid romance is heating up again just months after the "Snow White and the Huntsman" actress issued a mea culpa about her affair with director Rupert Sanders, British tabloid The Sun reports.
According to the UK paper, Pattinson has decided that Stewart's wrongdoing was a "one-off" and he is now taking her back.
"They pretty much decided they couldn't live without each other," a source told the tabloid. "Kristen poured her heart out to Robert and told him it was a one-off and a mistake."
Based on the reports, the 26-year-old actor has decided to forgive Stewart and has even welcomed her over at Reese Witherspoon's California ranch in Ojai, Calif.
"Rob sees it as Kristen made a really stupid mistake," the source continued. "After a lot of long tearful talks, they've worked it out.
"Rob can see how truly sorry Kristen is and has totally forgiven her. They really do love each other."
Earlier this month, Stewart, 22, reassured the press that she and her estranged beau were "totally fine."
"We're going to be fine," she told the Associated Press at the Toronto Film Festival on Sept 8, likely in reference to concerns about how the former couple will do press together for the last installment of the "Twilight" saga this fall.
Reports about the state of the "Twilight" costars' relationship have been varied in the weeks following the reveal of Stewart and Sanders' affair.
In Touch magazine previously claimed that Pattinson was heartbroken and had been drunk-dialing his ex
"Rob has been avoiding her calls, but now they're talking ... well, they're barely talking," an insider told the magazine. "There's a lot of dead silence on the phone because there's not a lot to talk about."
A fan tweeted about Pattinson out drinking at a bar near Witherspoon's secluded ranch earlier last month.
"Robert Pattinson and his friends are at The Deer Lodge getting wasted," Twitter user @julidemdam posted.
As of the end of August, Pattinson had put up the $6 million Los Feliz home he shared with Stewart on sale, according to Us Weekly.
"He said there are too many memories," a source told the magazine of the actor's decision.
The Sun reports that the reunited couple has since moved into a secluded home in the same L.A. compound as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
"For now they are focusing on themselves," the source told the tabloid.
