Microsoft is doing its part to put an end to texting and driving. The latest software update on its Windows Phone 8 devices includes a Driving Mode feature that prevents users from receiving calls or texts while behind the wheel. While the feature aims to cut down on distractions while driving, it isn’t flawless- it’s possible to override it, and it doesn’t prevent users from placing calls or sending texts. But unlike the iPhone’s similar Do Not Disturb feature, which needs to be manually turned on, Driving Mode can be activated automatically when the Windows phone is linked to a car’s Bluetooth system.
