This supermarket trend has all the ingredients for success. More grocery chains are offering a wide variety of hot and prepared food. Whole Foods and Wegmans both serve breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets in their stores, while other chains, like Safeway and Giant, have a number of prepared items available. While pre-made foods are a convenience for many people, some experts say hot food bars are destined to become the latest grocery store impulse buy, similar to snatching up a candy bar and a magazine in the check-out aisle.
