Mirror, mirror, on the Facebook wall, who’s the fairest of them all? More than 40% percent of women admit to retouching photos of themselves before posting them online! Many feel increased pressure to look their best on sites like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, where they often see and compare themselves to pictures of gorgeous models and celebrities. Almost 80% say having their photo snapped and posted online makes them more anxious than a first date, a job interview or public speaking. Three quarters of women feel they look fat or ugly in photos, and have gone as far as to un-tag, remove or even destroy unflattering shots.
