Police in Provo, Utah say a woman approached an off-duty police officer last week and asked if she could buy meth from him because she wanted to give the drug to her sister as a birthday present. According to a police report obtained by the Daily Herald, the off-duty cop called on-duty police and they arrived and arrested Heather Rodriguez on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug-free zone and attempted possession of meth for distribution. Police say Rodriguez, 46, removed a glass pipe containing meth residue from her bra during the incident, but later claimed she was simply holding it for a friend. Cops say Rodriguez admitted to officers that she was trying to purchase meth because her sister asked her to get some meth for her birthday.
