The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards were handed out last night and the big winner was American Hustle, which took home three awards - Best Picture, Comedy; Best Actress, Comedy, Amy Adams and Best Supporting Actress, Jennifer Lawrence. Rounding out the comedy category was Leonardo DiCaprio, who won Best Actor for The Wolf of Wall Street. On the Drama side, 12 Years A Slave was named Best Picture, while Cate Blanchett took home Best Actress for Blue Jasmine and Matthew McConaughey won Best Actor for Dallas Buyers Club. Other winners included: Jared Leto, Best Supporting Actor, Dallas Buyers Club; Her, Best Screenplay; Frozen, Best Animated Feature and Alfonso Cuaron, Best Director, Gravity. On the TV side, Breaking Bad was honored for its critically acclaimed final season, taking home Best Drama, as well as Best Actor, Drama for Bryan Cranston. Meanwhile, Netflix took home its first-ever honor when Robin Wright walked away with Best Actress, Drama for House of Cards. As for the comedies, the freshman series Brooklyn Nine-Nine was the surprise winner taking home not only Best Comedy, but also Best Actor for Andy Samberg. Meanwhile, last night’s Globes host Amy Poehler took home Best Actress, and got a little comedic smooch from Bono when she won. Other TV winners include: Behind the Candelabra, Best Miniseries/Movie; Michael Douglas, Best Actor, Miniseries/Movie, Behind the Candelabra; Elisabeth Moss, Best Actress Miniseries/Movie, Top of the Lake; Jacqueline Bisset, Best Supporting Actress, Dancing on the Edge and Jon Voight, Best Supporting Actor, Ray Donovan.
