2012 American Country Awards Nominees Announced

Luke Bryan leads the pack of 2012 American Country Awards nominees. He received seven nominations in all, including Artist of the Year. Lady Antebellum and Zac Brown Band came in close behind Bryan’s nods, scoring six nominations each. Eric Church and Taylor Swift are nominated in five categories apiece. This year’s American Country Awards have added a category for Song of the Year, which will go to the songwriters. Ballots are now open for the fan-voted awards; fans can visit www.theacas.com and vote once a day from now until November 12th for their favorites. Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth will host the awards show, which will air live from the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Vegas on December 10th on FOX. Nominees include:

Artist of the Year: Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Zac Brown Band, Luke Bryan and Taylor Swift.

Artist of the Year – Male: Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church and Toby Keith.

Artist of the Year – Female: Sara Evans, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.

Artist of the Year – Group: Lady Antebellum, Zac Brown Band, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry and Eli Young Band.

Artist of the Year – Breakthrough Artist: Lee Brice, Colt Ford, Glorianna, Justin Moore and Jake Owen.

Artist of the Year – New Artist: Lauren Alaina, Pistol Annies, Hunter Hayes, Jana Kramer and Kip Moore.
