SCARLETT ENGAGED TO FRENCH BEAU
Scarlett Johansson is giving marriage another try. The Avengers star has gotten engaged to her boyfriend of ten months, French journalist Romain Dauriac. A rep for the actress told Us Weekly, “I can confirm that Scarlett and Romain are engaged. They haven’t set a date.” People says Romain popped the question a month ago with a vintage Art Deco ring. This will be the second marriage for Scarlett. She wed Ryan Reynolds in 2008. They split two years later.
LAMAR LEAVES REHAB
TMZ reports that contrary to claims, Lamar Odom is not in rehab. The site says they’ve contacted several sources and have been told that the NBA star is not getting help for his drug addiction. According to People, Lamar did check into a facility on Wednesday, but left Thursday afternoon. He ws later spotted in Los Angeles. Word is, Lamar hasn’t been in touch with the Kardashian family for the last few days, which may explain why wife Khloe Kardashian was surprised by Wednesday’s reports that Lamar was in rehab. Sources say she and Lamar haven’t talked much recently. Last week she allegedly gave him an ultimatum - either get help or their marriage was over.
DANCING’S ANNA TREBUNSKAYA PREGNANT
Dancer Anna Trebunskaya is sitting out this season’s Dancing with the Stars for a very good reason – she’s pregnant. "It wasn't planned, but when it happened, I thought, 'This is perfect -- I'm ready to be a mom,'" the 32-year-old tells Us Weekly. "This is something really good for me and fulfilling, and it'll give me a whole new meaning in life. I'm really looking forward to it." Anna, whose marriage to dancer Jonathan Roberts ended in October, 2012, did not reveal the identity of the baby’s father.
LOPEZ TALKS IDOL RETURN
Jennifer Lopez is excited to return to American Idol after a year off. "I love this show and I'm glad to be back," she said during a press conference with co-judges Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. As for why she sat out last season, J.Lo explained, “Last year I went off and toured the whole world for the first time. It wasn't the easiest thing to fit in this season of Idol, but I do love it so much ... I did miss it." Judging by the laughs the three judges were having, it doesn’t look like there will be a repeat of the animosity felt between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj last season. "I don't know what's going to happen," Lopez said. "But I know we're going to have a great time."
MICHELLE WILLIAMS TO STAR ON BROADWAY
My Week with Marilyn star Michelle Williams will make her Broadway debut as Sally Bowles in a limited run revival of Cabaret. The musical, directed by Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall (who also directed the 1998 Cabaret revival), will begin previews on March 21st and open for a 24-week run April 24th at Studio 54. Alan Cumming, who won a Tony Award for his 1998 turn as the show’s Emcee, will reprise the role in the new production.
BOMER FLATTERED BY FIFTY SHADES OF GREY FANS
White Collar star Matt Bomer is flattered that Fifty Shades of Grey fans started a petition to get him cast as Christian Grey over the recently announced Charlie Hunnam. But it doesn’t sound like the actor is out to take anybody’s job. “I’m so grateful for the fans and touched,” he said at the fifth season premiere of White Collar. “I’m looking forward to seeing the movie with Charlie and Dakota (Johnson).”
JOLIE, MARTIN & LANSBURY TO RECEIVE HONORARY OSCARS
Angelina Jolie is getting another Oscar. The 38-year-old, who won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Girl, Interrupted, has been chosen to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her charity work on behalf of various causes around the world. The honorary award is given to “an individual in the motion picture industry whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry.” Angela Lansbury and Steve Martin have also been chosen to receive honorary Oscars for “lifetime achievement” and “outstanding service to the Academy.” The awards will be handed out November 16th.
MADISON TO MARRY NEXT WEEK
Holly Madison is almost a bride. The former Girls Next Door star is due to wed baby daddy Pasquale Rotella next week at Disneyland, according to E! News. The couple, who welcomed daughter Rainbow in March, announced their engagement in June.
WHITE LANDS GUINNESS RECORD
Betty White has won six Emmys and now she has new honor under her belt. The Guinness World Records 2014 edition has given the 91-year-old actress the record for “Longest TV Career for an Entertainer (Female).” White earned the honor for her 74-years in showbiz. British entertainer Bruce Forsyth (Sunday Night at the London Palladium), who has also been in the business for 74 years, earned the title for the men.
CHAPPELLE HATES HARTFORD
Dave Chappelle really hates Hartford. Last week the comedian was doing standup in the Connecticut town when he decided to walk out on an unruly crowd. Well, the situation has now become fodder for his routine. During a gig in Chicago Tuesday, Chappelle [NOTE CONTENT] quickly addressed the incident, telling the audience, “You’re so much better than Hartford! I will never go back. I won’t even go to Hartford for f—ing gas.” He then went off. “I don’t want anything bad to happen to the United States, but if North Korea drops a nuclear bomb on this country, I swear to God, I hope it lands in Hartford, Connecticut,” he said. “That crowd was evil. An arena full of suburban torturers. A room full of white alcoholics.” Finally, Chappelle said, “I wanted to pull a reverse Kramer and call them all crackers,” referring to Michael Richards’ infamous N-word tirade in 2006. One person who’s had enough of Chappelle is Pedro Segarra, the Mayor of Hartford. Yesterday he tweeted, “Dave Chappelle needs to quit whining, do his job and try some yoga.”
THE CHEW’S DAPHNE OZ PREGNANT
The Chew’s Daphne Oz, daughter of TV MD Dr. Mehmet Oz, is going to be a mom. The 27-year-old and husband John Jovanovic are expecting their first child. Daphne announced the news yesterday during a taping of the season premiere of the ABC show, which airs Monday, September 9th.
