THE COST OF KANYE’S PROPOSAL Ok so Kanye West’s marriage proposal wasn’t entirely a surprise. Perez Hilton reported that Kim Kardashian actually had a hand in picking out her Lorraine Schwartz diamond sparkler. “She told Kanye to get the ring from Lorraine Schwartz because she loves the jeweler’s diamonds,” a source said. “She knew the proposal was happening, she just didn’t know when it would happen." Plus, Kanye apparently got a good deal on the 15-carat ring because of all the publicity it will get. Though the bauble was being estimated at $3 million, sources say Kanye only dropped $500,000 on it. The entire engagement itself was estimated at over $6 million – including renting out San Francisco’s AT&T stadium, hiring an orchestra, and flying the whole Kardashian clan to San Fran in a private jet - so it’s not like he skimped in the money department. Chances are, we’ll get to witness the whole, extravagant thing. “Multiple cameras were rolling during Kanye's proposal,” a source told TMZ, adding, “there's plenty of material for the Kardashian reality show.” PRINCE GEORGE HAS ROYAL BAPTISM The royal christening for Prince George took place yesterday at the Chapel Royal in London. Kate wore an Alexander McQueen outfit and nude-and-ivory Jane Taylor hat. DINA BLAMES PAPARAZZI FOR DWI Dina Lohan is claiming that the paparazzi caused her to drive drunk. Lindsay’s mama appeared in court yesterday for a routine hearing stemming from her DWI arrest on Sept. 12. Her attorney, Mark Heller, explained to journalists outside the Long Island courtroom that stress was the main cause of the incident. "The circumstances leading to Dina's arrest were largely impacted by ongoing daily stresses caused by you folks, the paparazzi, media attention and distorted tabloid character profiles," Heller said, reading from a report by a court-appointed evaluator. He said he hopes the court will take “the circumstances and challenges of Dina's lifestyle under consideration in prosecuting this case.” Dina pleaded not guilty on Sept. 24.
