EFRON SPENT TIME IN REHAB
Add Zac Efron to the list of young stars who’ve been to rehab. It was revealed yesterday that the High School Musical star completed a stint at a facility five months ago. TMZ reports that the 25-year-old was seeking help for a serious cocaine addiction, which got out of control while filming the Seth Rogen movie Neighbors. Sources say Efron didn’t show up to set on several occasions, and “it was common knowledge he was struggling with cocaine.” Other sources say he also dabbled in ecstasy.
WHO’S TO BLAME FOR MILEY/LIAM SPLIT?
Now that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have officially called off their engagement, the press is abuzz about what exactly went wrong. Radaronline reports that Miley’s raunchy MTV Video Music Awards performance was just more than Liam could handle. “Miley and Liam were already pretty much broken up at that point, but when he saw her performance and the backlash it created, it was the nail in the coffin,” said a source. “That was all he needed to finally break up with Miley once and for all. He was embarrassed, disgusted and mortified by her performance.” Meanwhile, Liam was getting over the split in Las Vegas over the weekend, and was spotted getting cozy with 23-year-old Mexican actress/singer Eiza Gonzalez at the XS nightclub. “They never left each other’s sides .They were with a few people and spent a few minutes at the VIP DJ stage table. They then headed back to a more private VIP bungalow cabana near the pool,” a witness told Life & Style. “They had drinks and talked in the bungalow. They left together with the rest of the group around 2 a.m.” Liam was seen with Eiza again in Los Angeles Tuesday, just hours after he and Miley confirmed their split. Paparazzi caught the Hunger Games star leaving his home with Eiza and getting into his SUV.
CHRIS HEMSWORTH LUCKY TO HAVE BORING LIFE
Unlike his brother Liam Hemsworth, Rush star Chris Hemsworth is a happily married man who doesn’t have to deal with the paparazzi much. “I'm lucky. I've spoken to a few people about it…It sort of is what it is. At times you're a target and at times you're not. If you have a film coming out or who you are dating and what have you… but, um, we've been lucky, my wife and I," Chris, who is married to Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, told Ellen DeGeneres. “We kind of live a pretty simple boring kind of life. We're not rolling out of clubs at 4 in the morning. Not to say that Liam is, by the way—well, he has once or twice!"
BRAD PITT CRASHES WEDDING
A bride in the UK’s special day became even more special thanks to a surprise appearance by Brad Pitt. Abi Lingwood and her groom Daniel were celebrating their wedding at the Maidenhead Hotel when Daniel spotted Pitt having a drink at the hotel bar. Pitt was in town shooting the World War II movie Fury at nearby Pinewood Studios. Daniel quickly walked over to the actor and talked him into meeting his new wife and posing for a photo. “My husband said to me Brad Pitt was at the bar and you have got to come with me so he dragged me across the hotel,” said Abi. “I thought he was joking.” She added, “He said congratulations and I hope you have had a great day and let's have a picture. And he said I looked nice. He was really nice.” Abi admits that her guests became a little awestruck by Pitt’s presence and he may have upstaged her a bit. Said Abi, “it has become more of a talking point than my wedding, but that is fine.”
JOSH & FERGIE SHOW OFF SON
New parents Josh Duhamel and Fergie have shared their first picture of son Axl Jack, who was born August 29th. "Axl Jack Duhamel Day 1," Josh posted on Facebook along with the pic. He then added, "Life is good. #paparazziyoucanleaveourhousenow."
PATTINSON WON’T FORGIVE
Sounds like we now know why Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart couldn’t make it work after she cheated on him with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. Apparently, Pattinson is not a very forgiving person. "I don't ever feel the need to forgive," he admitted to Australia’s Sunday Style. "I judge people on their actions. I don't really care if it's wrong or right, I give them the benefit of the doubt. If they do something I can't be bothered to deal with, I just cut them out."
BULLOCK WON’T LOOK BACK
It’s been three years since Sandra Bullock found out her husband Jesse James was cheating on her, but the Oscar winner chooses not to dwell on that bad experience. "We're all where we're supposed to be," Bullock says in the October issue of Vogue. "I am exactly where I want to be now. You can't go backward. I'm not going backward. I'm grateful that I'm here, blessed to have what I have. Nobody can be prepared for anything." Not long after the scandal hit, Bullock revealed that she had adopted a baby boy, Louis, and having a son has helped her get her priorities straight. “Work was my life before,” she says. “Now I have no reason to leave home." And it sounds like Bullock is more than ready to adopt again. "If all of a sudden someone said, 'You have five more kids,' I’d be totally OK with it," she says. "I'm having such an amazing time. Whatever comes our way, we handle as a family. It's not just me anymore."
WAHLBERG EARNS DIPLOMA
Mark Wahlberg is finally a high school graduate. The 42-year-old received his diploma in June and tells People he did it for his four kids. “I didn't want the kids saying, 'You didn't do it, so why do I need it?',” he explained. Mark says getting his diploma is “a huge accomplishment,” adding, “it’s also a huge sense of relief…It’s so much harder at 41 going back and trying to do all these difficult tasks.” Wahlberg took online classes to get his degree, and math was the hardest for him, even though he says he’s “good at counting money and keeping track of my money.”
AFFLECK NOT BOTHERED BY BATMAN BACKLASH
Ben Affleck doesn’t concern himself with the online backlash that happened when it was announced he’d play Batman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel. "I'm a big boy. I handle s**t … I'm very tough," he told Jimmy Fallon. Before the studio announced his casting, they actually warned him “don’t use the internet for a couple of days” and showed him online comments other stars have endured, but it still didn’t prepare him. Said Ben, “I saw the announcement, I look at the first comment and it's like, 'Ben Affleck is going to be Batman' and the first one goes, 'Noooooooo!'" And even Ben admits he at first didn’t think he was the right person to play the Caped Crusader, explaining, "I thought, 'I'm not 25 man and are you sure about this?' And they said, 'Come down, we want to show you what we're doing,' and it was incredible."
WHAT ANISTON DIDN’T LET FIANCÉ BRING INTO THEIR HOUSE
Justin Theroux admits he had to adjust his lifestyle when he got involved with a superstar like Jennifer Aniston. “It’s a bit like going to a slightly different altitude, you know?,” he tells GQ. Justin and Jen recently moved into a new Bel Air mansion, but Justin says the Friends star put her foot down when it came to him bringing one of his possessions into the home. "I have these beautiful wax-museum pieces — handmade, from the 1800s — from a museum of curiosities. They're just these open mouths, with tongues, and in the throats are different stages, labeled, of syphilis and gonorrhea and whatever," he explains. "Those definitely found a great place in my office in L.A. They weren't going to be above the fireplace anytime soon."
ELTON DISCUSSES MICHAEL JACKSON’S DEATH
In a recent interview with The Australian, Elton John says he predicted Michael Jackson’s death. “I was in my dressing room in Las Vegas when they announced that Michael Jackson was playing 50 dates at the O2. I turned to my agent and said: ‘He won’t do a single one of those.’ I could tell you he was going to die,” said Elton. “He’d been doing drugs for so long, he’d been a mess for so long – and I’ve known Michael since he was 12 or 13 – that it was never going to happen. Everyone was saying it was going to be great and I was saying: ‘Hello? Are you looking at the real thing here?’”
REHAB OFFERS BREAKING BAD SCHOLARSHIP
In honor of the end of Breaking Bad, a rehab center in Albuquerque, New Mexico (where the show takes place) is offering two “scholarships” for treatment. The center, Healthshire, announced on its website they will offer free treatment to two people “as part of an effort to bring awareness to mental health and addiction issues.” Applicants must live in or around Albuquerque, be at least 18 and must express a financial need. They also need to submit a personal story relating to addiction. The series finale of Breaking Bad airs September 29th.
LILY COLLINS IS DANGEROUS
You may want to think twice before googling actress Lily Collins. According to internet security company McAfee, the Mirror Mirror star is the most dangerous celeb to search online, and poses the biggest risk of computer users landing on a malicious site. In fact, female stars are particularly dangerous. Last year’s number one was Emma Watson, and this year’s Top Five include Avril Lavigne, Sandra Bullock, Kathy Griffin and Zoe Saldana. The only man to make it in the Top Ten is Mad Men’s Jon Hamm.
