With Halloween candy everywhere you turn, it's hard to limit yourself. But if you don't, you may end up with too many sugar highs and a larger pant size before Thanksgiving. What to do?
Keep your candy wrappers.
According to a study, you should keep those wrappers in plain sight when eating Halloween candy. According to Brian Wansink, author of Mindless Eating, study participants ate about half as much candy when they kept the wrappers in sight.
Another hint: instead of putting out a bowl of candy on your desk at work or next to the sofa at home, put the treats across the room. Most people will eat less if they have to get up and walk for the candy.
