EXTREME COLD

BRACE YOURSELF AND GET READY TO BUNDLE UP. A POLAR FRONT WILL BRING DANGEROUS COLD INTO OUR AREA STARTING LATER TODAY. METEOROLOGISTS SAY THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR RECORD-BREAKING EXTREME COLD. WITH THE WIND, IT WILL FEEL LIKE 30 TO 40 BELOW AT TIMES TOMORROW. IF YOU’LL BE HEADING OUTSIDE, WEAR MULTIPLE LAYERS AND LEAVE NOTHING EXPOSED TO THE COLD AIR IF POSSIBLE. FROSTBITE CAN SET IN IN JUST A FEW MINUTES. PETS SHOULD BE KEPT INDOORS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. TO HELP AVOID FROZEN PIPES, OPEN CABINET DOORS TO ALLOW WARMER AIR TO CIRCULATE AROUND THE PLUMBING AND KEEP GARAGE DOORS CLOSED IF THERE ARE WATER SUPPLY LINES THERE. YOU CAN ALSO LET COLD WATER DRIP FROM ANY FAUCETS SERVED BY EXPOSED PIPES. TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO BEGIN TO RISE WEDNESDAY.
