SPANIER SUING FREEH
former Penn State President graham spanier is suing former f-b-i director louis freeh and the law firm that accused him of helping cover up jerry sandusky’s abuse of young boys. yesterday, Spanier filed a “Writ of Summons” in his defamation case, requesting monetary damages outside arbitration limits and a jury trial. spanier is currently awaiting trial on criminal charges including perjury. he remains a penn state faculty member on administrative leave.

CAMBRIA COUNTY AUTHORITIES ARE looking for THE MAN who WAS dressed as woman WHEN HE robbed First National Bank on Scalp Avenue IN RICHLAND TOWNSHIP around one Thursday afternoon. the suspect wore a red wig, A BLACK DRESS, AND BLACK SHOES WITH SOME PINK ON THEM. ILLEGAL ALIEN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING CHILD
duncansville police arrested 28 year old felipe martinez yesterday. he’s charged with rape and sexual assault of a minor. other counts include aggravated assault, corrupting the morals of a minor, and unlawful restraint. his work visa had expired so martinez is considered an illegal alien. he was taken to blair county central booking for arraignment.
IN SOMERSET COUNTY COURT YESTERDAY, former MAPLE SPRING CHURCH OF THE BRETHERN deacon AND FORMER CONEMAUGH TOWNSHIP SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER BRIAN EPPLEY OF DAVIDSVILLE WAS SENTENCED TO 5 YEARS PROBATION. HE pleaded guilty to corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor. AUTHORITIES SAY EPPLEY forced ONE boy to TAKE OFF his shoes and place his feet on Eppley’s lap. this happened every month for 2 or 3 years. ANOTHER BOY HAD TO PUT HIS FEET IN Eppley’S FACE.
JAIL TIME FOR PRISON GUARD
former Bedford County Corrections Officer Ryan Clapper Schellsburg WILL SPEND 45 DAYS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BARS. FOLLOWING A 2-HOUR TRIAL, HE was found guilty of Harassment FOR PUTTING HANDCUFFS AND SHACKLES IN THE FREEZER, THEN LOCKING THEM ON A FEMALE INMATE. Clapper Has 30 days to file an appeal to STATE Superior Court. IF HE GOES TO JAIL, HE WILL LIKELY BE TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER FACILITY.
A-G ON SAME SEX MARRIAGE
STATE Attorney General Kathleen Kane ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY THAT she won’t defend the state’s law banning same-sex marriage. A FEDERAL lawsuit filed THIS WEEK seeks to overturn the law. UNDER Pennsylvania law, it’s the attorney general’s duty to defend the constitutionality of state laws, But the A-G may ALSO allow lawyers for the governor or OTHER agencies TO defend a lawsuit, if it’s more efficient or in the state’s best interests. Kane supports same-sex marriage, BUT Governor TOM Corbett DOES NOT.
